Pick the square crop from your gallery.
LinkedIn displays your photo in a circle inside a square. The square crops we shipped are designed for this. Don't upload the full-frame portrait — it'll get cut off at the temples.

Upload the high-resolution file.
LinkedIn accepts up to 8MB. Use the full file from your gallery, not a screenshot. The compression LinkedIn does on a small file makes the photo look soft.

Position your face in the upper third.
When you crop inside LinkedIn, place your eyes about a third of the way down. That's where the eye naturally goes when someone scans a feed.

Update the banner while you're there.
A new photo with the same old banner reads as half-finished. Even a simple solid color matching your photo's background lifts the whole profile.
