The problem

Government portrait photography shouldn't slow the line.

Whether you're running a passport-acceptance office, a county courthouse, a federal credential service, or a DMV - the same three problems show up:

Long lines

Long lines and even longer waits

Photographers are scheduled, not on-demand. A single photo-capture step can stretch a 15-minute appointment into 45 minutes when staff are stretched thin.

Compliance is

Compliance is hard to enforce by hand

Passport / visa photo specs are unforgiving - wrong background color, wrong dimensions, wrong head-position, the application gets rejected and the citizen comes back. Manual capture isn't reliable.

Field deployments

Field deployments are an operational mess

Pop-up REAL ID centers, mobile passport-acceptance events, and rural ID drives all need photo capture - and most current options weren't built to travel.

The solution

Meet Studio Pod: government-grade ID photo capture, on-demand.

The portable Roadie ships UPS to any US field site and sets up in five minutes. The S1 and S3 installed pods sit at your service counter and run unattended year-round. Same DSLR + DMX studio lighting + AI-retouch stack inside both - same compliant output every time.

  • Compliance presets, baked in. Passport / visa / REAL ID / TWIC / state-DL preset profiles are included. Capture once - the system outputs the right dimensions, background, head-position, and crop for whichever credential is being issued.
  • No photographer needed - unlimited retakes. Studio Pod is fully self-serve. Citizens retake until the photo passes compliance checks - at zero cost, in seconds. The bottleneck disappears.
  • Field-ready in five minutes. Roadie ships in two Pelican cases. UPS to any US field office. Plug into a standard 110V outlet. The booth is operational before the line opens.
  • Scales from one office to a state network. 300,000+ portraits delivered through the Studio Pod stack to date. The same hardware that runs in a corporate lobby runs in a passport-acceptance office.
  • API + secure record-system integration. Photos auto-name to citizen ID, auto-crop to compliance spec, and push to your record-keeping system via API. SOC 2-aligned storage, encrypted at rest in the US.
  • Audit trail + per-session logs. Every session, every retake, every export is logged for compliance audits. The portal exposes session counts, peak times, and per-staff usage for ROI reporting.
FAQ

Common questions, answered.

Which photo standards does Studio Pod support?

US passport, US visa, REAL ID, TWIC, state-issued DL, DOD CAC, and most foreign-government passport specifications. Each preset locks the background color, dimensions, head-position, and crop. Custom specs for any agency-specific credential can be added in software - no hardware changes.

Is the booth secure for sensitive use?

Yes. Images are encrypted at rest on US-based servers, with optional auto-delete after delivery. Studio Pod never claims ownership of any photo - your agency or the individual retains full rights. SOC 2-aligned storage; FedRAMP-ready paths available on request.

Does Studio Pod integrate with our record system?

Yes - API connectivity is included with enterprise deployments. Photos can be auto-named to a citizen ID, cropped to a specific spec, and pushed to your existing record-keeping system. We have integration patterns for Salesforce Public Sector Solutions, ServiceNow, and most government RMS platforms.

Can Studio Pod be deployed in a field office?

Yes. Roadie is purpose-built for field deployment - two Pelican-grade cases, ships UPS, sets up in five minutes, runs on a standard 110V outlet. Mobile passport-acceptance events, rural REAL ID drives, and pop-up credential offices are core use cases.

How fast is the photo turnaround?

Instant. Citizens see their photos on the touchscreen the moment they're taken. The final lands in the agency record system and / or the citizen's email before they leave the chair.

Is there a limit on retakes?

No. Citizens retake until the photo passes the compliance check on screen. No per-retake fee - Studio Pod's pricing is per-deployment, not per-session.

How do we measure usage + ROI?

The admin portal exposes session counts, retake rates, peak times, throughput per hour, and per-staff usage. Many agencies use the data to justify deployment to additional facilities.
