FLEX.
Lights that follow
the work.

Two patented soft-light panels that bolt onto a Studio Pod Roadie - turning the headshot studio into a full-body, group, or magazine-cover-grade portrait rig in two extra minutes. Same DMX control board. Same image standard. Bigger frame.

What FLEX unlocks

Three shoots the Roadie alone can't do.

FLEX exists because real photographers always need another light. Three scenarios where the standard Roadie rig hits its limit - and FLEX picks up the frame.

Full-body + 3/4-length

The frame doesn't stop at the shoulders.

Roadie's center rig is engineered for headshots - light falls off below the chest. FLEX's vertical soft-panels carry the lighting recipe down to the knees, opening up editorial-grade 3/4-length and full-body frames. Agencies booking talent shots, real estate brokerages doing both portrait + listing cards, fashion-adjacent corporate work - all unlocked.

Groups + teams

Up to four subjects, evenly lit.

The single-subject limit was the most common Roadie booking question. FLEX's wider lit zone (6-8 ft) lights small groups - executive teams, founding partners, athletic doubles, brand collabs - with the same controlled lighting Studio Pod ships for solo headshots. One shot, one rig, four subjects in frame.

Magazine-grade headshots

Premium tier for the cover shot.

Sometimes the headshot is going on the annual report cover, not just LinkedIn. FLEX adds wraparound side fill that matches the lighting fashion + editorial photographers use - softer key, deeper rim, no shadow lines. Pay for the upgrade when the subject is going on a 4-inch print at 300 dpi.

In the FLEX kit

Two panels. One road case. Same DMX board.

FLEX ships as a modular add-on to your Roadie booking - a single additional road case that opens into two independently-mounted soft-light panels. Setup adds ~2 minutes on top of Roadie's 5-minute base. Cabled into the same DMX controller, so the entire 10-source lighting rig runs from the same touchscreen recipe.

  • Two patented soft-light panels. ~18 in × 38 in active surface each, diffused front face, color-matched to the Roadie center rig.
  • Independent floor stands. Adjustable height, weighted base. Each panel positions independently for the shooting scenario - portrait flat, group splay, or editorial wraparound.
  • DMX integration. Same controller as the Roadie center rig. One touchscreen, ten light sources, one lighting recipe. No second control surface to learn.
  • Standard 110V power. No special wiring. Same outlet as the Roadie - extension cable included.
  • Pelican-grade road case. Hard shell, foam-cradled, rolls on its own wheels. Same UPS-shippable form factor as the Roadie cases.
  • Designed + built in Houston. By the same Studio Pod team that engineered the patented 8-tube center rig.
By the row

Roadie alone vs Roadie + FLEX.

Eight rows - what each rig covers and where FLEX picks up the frame the standard Roadie can't.
