The problem

Career centers can't scale professional headshots - but every student needs one.

Career Services teams say the same thing year after year: students who need LinkedIn-ready headshots vastly outnumber the photographer days the office can fund. The result:

Career-fair headshot

Career-fair headshot days create lines, not coverage

A photographer booked for two days serves 200 students. The other 19,800 on campus that semester get nothing, or they pay $200 at a private studio they can't afford.

The students

The students who need it most can't afford it

First-generation students, transfer students, and students on financial aid most need the professional polish a real headshot provides - and they're the same students who can least afford to pay for one privately.

Coverage is

Coverage is uneven across colleges

Business school career centers fund headshot days. Liberal arts career centers don't. Students from different colleges within the same university show up to job interviews looking like they went to different schools.

The solution

Meet Studio Pod: a career center amenity that runs itself.

Install an S1 or S3 Studio Pod in your career center. It runs unattended every business day. Students walk up, sign in with their SSO credential, capture a 15-frame session, and get their LinkedIn-ready headshot before they leave. No photographer, no fee, no booking.

  • Unlimited free sessions for every student. Pricing is per-deployment, not per-session. Once installed, every student on campus can use the pod as often as they want at zero marginal cost - a sophomore who's not ready yet can come back as a senior.
  • Equity-by-design. Every student, regardless of major or financial situation, gets the same professional-quality headshot. The visible gap between students who can afford private photographers and those who can't disappears.
  • Branded to the institution. Backdrop, intro screen, and gallery-delivery email all carry university branding. Students associate the experience with the career center, not with a vendor.
  • Sponsor-fundable. Corporate recruiters underwrite the program through our Partner Program. They get branded visibility + a recruiting funnel; you get a free amenity. Most career centers don't pay for the pod themselves.
  • SSO + transcript integration. Students sign in with their university SSO. Photos are auto-named to their student ID and can route to LinkedIn Learning, Handshake, the alumni directory, or any campus system via API.
  • Stays current as new students arrive. Run open-booth days at orientation. New students get their headshot before their first class. The pod doesn't age out - it runs the same on day 1 and year 5.
FAQ

Common questions, answered.

What's the cost to the career center?

Many career centers pay nothing - corporate sponsors underwrite the pod through the Studio Pod Partner Program in exchange for branded sessions and recruiting visibility. If you'd rather buy the pod outright, S1 starts at $16,950 and S3 at $33,000. Annual service runs $6,000/year.

How do students access the pod?

Sign-in via university SSO. The session walks them through 15 frames, retouches, and emails the final to the address on file (typically their university email). Sessions take 5 minutes; the pod is open every business day during career-center hours.

How is this different from a photographer day?

A photographer day serves the students who can get to it on the right day. Studio Pod serves every student on every day. The pod also produces consistent output across every subject - same lighting, same backdrop, same crop - which a rotating photographer roster can't.

Can we customize the experience to our school's brand?

Yes. Backdrop color, intro screen, email template, and gallery layout all customize to your university branding. Many career centers also add sponsor branding (the underwriting corporate recruiter) as a secondary brand layer.

Do students keep ownership of their photos?

Yes. Students retain full rights to every photo. Studio Pod stores photos for retake access during the academic year but doesn't claim ownership, doesn't sell data, and won't share images with third parties without student consent.

What integrations are available?

API access ships standard. Photos auto-route to Handshake, LinkedIn Learning, alumni directory systems, and most campus CRMs. SSO supports SAML / Okta / Azure AD / Google Workspace.
